Leada were contacted by Yorkshire Water Services under our EICAT Framework Contract to undertake a flowmeter installation on a disinfection system at one of their borehole sites. During the onsite review, it became apparent that the requirement was for flow proportional control on the disinfection system (compliance requirement).
Given the complexities of the site, the installation of flowmeters on the existing system without major wholesale changes to the entire dosing system was complex, requiring multiple shutdowns and disruption to the water network. The simplest method of ascertaining the flow would be deriving this from the pump.
After the initial site investigation, LEADA verified that the existing pump had the capability built in. We contacted the sales team at Prominent to verify… we were right! We returned to the site with YWS to interrogate the pump settings and confirm that the required flow output could be sourced with only minor changes to the system settings and some remapping of the PLC coding, all within the capability of the YW ICA team.
This solution has resulted in an outcome with no disruption to the work and no cost to the client
This shows the benefits of positive framework relationships.
