Fiber Optic Enclosure

Duty-duty, dual redundant uninterruptable power supply

The Fiber Optic Breakout Enclosure (FOBE) is designed to supply resilient power to the managed Ethernet switch of a site wide communications network, including:

  • 2 x 16 core fibre optic cable connections in a dual redundant ring via patch panels and leads,
  • Ethernet Managed switch with dual 24V DC power inputs
  • Duty-Duty Dual redundant 230V / 24V DC power supply units,
  • Power supply load management that ensures equal power supply loading in normal use,
  • 24V DC VRLA battery powered UPS unit providing backup in the event of mains failure,
  • Ethernet managed switch dual 24V DC power inputs so that failure of any one item of equipment does not affect the continuity of the network communications, and
  • Hardwired contacts for remote monitoring of Network Interface Module status signals:
  • UPS System Fault
  • Redundant 24V DC power supply units Healthy
