We have welcomed the team back into the office after the Christmas break, and we are diving straight into 2025 with plenty of new business opportunities. This week, we are also celebrating a significant milestone: 24 years in business! We took this opportunity to look back at before LEADA times and current times.
So, where did it all begin? Let’s start with a little history lesson on MD Stewart…
Pre-1976: Stewart’s School Days
Stewart enjoyed school a lot and made some great memories, some of which were made with people who still work for LEADA today.
1976: Apprenticeship
After school, Stewart progressed onto being an apprentice electrician & Tele Mech Engineer at 41 Command Workshop R.E.M.E. Strensall in York. Here he received unbelievable training and learning, working with exceptional engineers and friends.
1984 – 2001 Yorkshire Water
Stewart’s career started for Yorkshire Water as a craft technician; from there, he became a maintenance manager and ICA engineer for the North & East, where he managed a team of outstanding engineers, many of whom became good friends. Stewart worked for Yorkshire Water for 17 years!
2001 – Present (24 years later)
Stewart founded Leada Engineering with a vision of creating a team of exceptional engineers, many of whom are family and friends. Leada has successfully grown into its own dedicated office and workshop space, both based in Ripon, North Yorkshire. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of everyone involved, all with a shared focus on quality at the heart of everything we do! The team will always care about what we do and always will!
Here’s to the next 24 years!
